Saturday morning saw Glenmore CC (in the form of Matt & Jody
Honywood, Rebecca Ellis, Bobby Gajendra and Ken Beaumont) taking cricket
into the wider Calgary community at the CLVC Spring Family Fun Fair.
The weather may not have been particularly pleasant but that didn't stop
plenty of the local kids from showing up and giving cricket a try, in
many cases for the first ever time. While the kids tried batting and
bowling outside, inside we were giving out all the information about our
Junior cricket programs. Even the Calgary Library mascot, 'Curious the
Chameleon' was on hand to find out about the sport and get a bat in his
hands!
A huge thanks to the guys for going along to help spread the
word of cricket. These are fantastic events for us to get involved in,
so hopefully there will be plenty more. If anyone knows of any other community events we could be a part of, please let us know.
