Glenmore Cricket Club Glenmore Braves v Knight Riders II on Sat 13 May 2017 at 12:00 PM
Glenmore Cricket Club Won by 104 runs

Match report It was much better weather this time around for cricket, Glenmore won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting order was changed to tryout new things, and team had planned to open with Jaideep (highest run maker from last game) and Ikbal, so that Glenmore can take advantage of the circle restriction along with hopefully better run rate in the first 15 overs. Glenmore achieved just that, Ikbal and Jai were fantastic in the first 10 overs and Glenmore was making runs with 6 an over. Saud bowled excellent first over where he had Jai and Ikbal missing their shots but after that, both batsmen changed adjusted really well to the condition. Jai picked up from where he left off in the last match was looking in excellent touch with fantastic cover drives and pull-shots. Rehan tricked him with slow loopy ball where Jai went across when he saw a loose ball but unfortunately couldn't connect it and he was clean bowled. Amar came next and started playing with caution, he was determined to get big score from the start. Ikbal took on the role of opener with open arms and was playing really well. He played great defensive shots unlike his nature and also great cover drive along the ground for couple boundaries but he was unlucky to be given out caught behind.
Amar and Abhijit continued on, Abhijit was debuting with Glenmore against his ex-team and was looking aggressive from the start. He hit excellent shots for boundaries and a six before getting caught on mid-on trying hit a sweep shot. Sudhanshu was next batsman in but couldn't last long when he tried to hit the ball over mid-off.
Anjan came in to play with Amar who was looking strong in the middle. Arsh was bowling strong lines so Amar tried to take him on but couldn't connect a straight one and was clean bowled. After this, Glenmore players came and went but couldn't stay with Anjan who made 24 not out. Sukhi and Anjan added 20+ runs for last wicket partnership, where Sukhi was playing excellent defensive shots and Anjan took a bit of an aggressive approach to score as many runs possible. Sukhi fell to Arsh when he gave him full-toss bowl which Sukhi couldn't resist and lofted up towards mid-on. Glenmore made 207 in 41 overs all out, they had an excellent opening and top 4 batsman made good scores, they could have made 50+ runs had they played 50 overs. Arsh and Tajinder bowled really well for Knight Riders.
Glenmore took the field to defend a modest total but they had an excellent energy in the field and were looking determined to win the game. Manjinder was back in form and was bowling exceptionally well, it was unfortunate that he couldnt break through when Arsh was dropped at the slips and then again Qaiser was dropped at the keepers. On the other hand, Sukhi the strategist bowled tight lines and got Arsh in front of the wickets. His master plan to get Saqib worked when he pushed amar out to the edge of inner circle and had Saqib try to play towards mid wicket but couldn't connect the bowl outside off and lobbed straight to Amar. Qaiser and Arsalan were playing great together and Knight riders were making a push towards the total until Ikbal took a stunner near the long off. He jumped in the air close to the boundary and took a one-hander with a left hand, while ball was drifting away in the wind. Arsalan was shell-shocked who couldn't believe it his luck and had to head back to the pavillion. Gautam, who was also debuting for Glenmore, bowled really well as a first change and troubled all the batsman.
After Arsalan's wicket, Anjan introduced Ikbal to the bowling attack and it seemed like Ikbal was in a rush to finish the game, he took 4 wickets in 3 overs to wrap up Knight Riders inning. It was a great team win, everyone was into the game and had a good positive energy through-out.

Player of the Match was given to Ikbal Sandhu for his contributions with bat and ball but above that was his stunning catch of the match.
