Falcons v Glenmore Cricket Club Glenmore Braves on Sun 07 May 2017 at 12pm
Glenmore Cricket Club Lost by 6 Wickets

Match report Glenmore I started their season, in yet again, a miserable rainy day. Game was delayed by 40 minutes but umpires decided not to take any overs out, Falcons won the toss and elected to bowl first. Salman and Chand opened bowling attack for Falcons, Chand struck in the first over when Amar was caught behind, trying to chase a wide ball. Looked like the decision to bowl first was turning in favour for Falcons but Jaideep and Sudhanshu played exceptionally well and were looking really comfortable in the overcast weather. While Sudhanshu middled all of his shorts, Jai was playing his natural game. It was bad luck that Sudhanshu's batt kissed the ball and into the safe hands of Junaid. Glenmore were 57/2 at that point and Anjan decided to promote himself to go at number 4, Jai and Anjan put up 90+ run partnership where most of the runs came from Jaideep's bat. He looked really aggressive when spinners were introduced and was hitting the ball at will. Anjan played a good supporting role but his inning came to an end when he decided to accelerate. Glenmore at that time was 152/3 in 33 overs. After that Falcons introduced Salman into the attack, which paid them off really well, picking cheap 4 wickets (including a run out) for 10 or so runs. Sandy tried to provide some resistance but fell short and Jai's brilliant innning came to an end when he was caught in gully. Their was communication error that led to run out of Shuaib. Haroon was unlucky, his ball stayed low and Rishab took a fulltoss on the pads. Sukhi and Manji made 13 runs in the last wicket partnership.

Falcons were looking to finish the match early, Ravi played some exceptional shots and hurried in to make 48 in 8 overs but Sukhi as always was exceptionally consistent in his bowling attack and took quick 3 wickets to Glenmore in front seat but Qamar and Chand played sensible cricket and took match away from Glenmore. Affan came in the end to make a quickfire 50 to finish the match.

In the end Glenmore lost by 6 wickets, they were 50+ run short of their target score as discussed at the start of the match. They lost last 7 wickets for 18 runs after the fall of Anjan's wicket, which led to such a small total of 175. Given that it was a first game of the season, boys learned a lot and hope to put the season back on track.
