Match report Royals hit by injury before and during the game did not help our cause. Failing to bat out the full 20 overs is never good, Wayne very kindly stepped in to replace a last minute drop out and played some very nice shots and then decided to go for a big 6 to complete his 20 only to lose his balance and step on his own wicket. With some tight bowling and some uneven bounces, only 4 of our batsmen reached double figures so we were always going to struggle against one of the better teams in the league.
With Rashpal going down with cramp early on in our defence of the meagre total and having to leave the field, 10 fielders, including a Harjot with a broken toe was never going to be enough, however we bowled and fielded well and towards the end as they got close to our total they all seemed to want to win with a mighty 6 and Sheshi got his first hat trick in his final over, then with Rashpal bowling on one leg seeming to improve his accuracy and Steven keeping his over on the stumps we took 5 wickets in the last 3 overs which was something to enjoy and great to see everyone trying until the fairly inevitable end.
