Match report "The Blues did not have enough players by the mandated time and fielded
first. We opened with Nabil Butt and Emaad Hasan who bowled with pace and
did well to keep the runs down despite not having a full quota of fielders.
All the junior bowlers were given a turn with the ball and Ali Anser and Opi
were especially good, with Ali generating good pace and swing and Opi
teasing the batsmen with his flighted off breaks. He did not concede a
boundary in his spell which was impressive as the batsmen were swinging
freely at every ball. Ali captured 2 wickets with the last two balls of his
spell. Unfortunately several uppish catches some of which went to hand were
dropped. Angad Singh was excellent behind the stumps darting all over to
pick up the ball. The Panthers wound up with 184 runs with some lusty
hitting at the end.

The Blues opened with Sajid Hasan and Freddy Bhathena with Sajid executing
his favorite cover drives and square cuts to retire at 30 not out (he has
made 30 n.o. each of the 3 games so far and going back to last season has 4
in a row!) Freddy threw down an anchor and played very straight but was
asked to retire after 12 overs to give the others a chance with the fielding
team commenting on his strokes as he grew in confidence at the end. Angad,
Emaad, Opi had brief little cameos with some good strokeplay before The
Blues ran out of overs with the final tally being 84.

In summary the bowling was generally good except for the wide stuff now and
then. Once they get more experience, watch out! The fielding, especially the
catching aspect, needs work and will come once they develop confidence. The
batting was excellent and all played with straight bats with good strokes.
Again the run rate will increase once they get stronger and more confident.
All played with commendable enthusiasm and were very eager to bowl or bat
when called upon to. A pleasure to be part of this team."
