Match report Kings XI II 225 all out in 31 overs, GCC II 199 all out in 33.2 overs

Last Monday, GCC II did a lot towards topping the #1 team in Div 3, but, not for the first time, not quite enough to seal the win.

A relatively sharp and energetic Labour Day GCC performance with the ball and in the field had the often heavy-scoring Kings labouring most of the way, with only Captain Sunny Singh (67) and Happy (39) getting away from the GCC attack with any consistency. Leading wicket-takers were Captain Wasim Naqshbandi (3) and wannabe Newfie Martin Muyomba (3).

With par on the fast, dusty Forest Lawn ground in the 260 range, Glenmore looked in with a solid chance. Trevor Defreitas and Anjan Singh made a respectable start, and while the all-round Iqbal Sandhu (83) was there, the target looked more than gettable. But no one apart from Adam Knox (14) could really stay with him.

And when Iqqy couldn't stay to marshall the tail, the momentum flagged. When the tail couldn't stay to sort itself, an 8th loss against the single flood-year win was chalked up. Sixteen year-old off-spinner Lovepreet (Bhaji) Singh bagged 4 for Kings.

Our 1st-year Captain continues to do a very good job with an enthusiastic squad, that while full of potential, has yet to live up to it.
