Glenmore Cricket Club - Anand Gupta

PLAYER PROFILE - Anand Gupta

 FULL NAME - Anand Gupta

 NICKNAME(S) - Anand

AGE - As young as Jonno (Bray)

CLUBS PLAYED FOR - In recent times - Bojangles, SIA in Singapore,
 and Glenmore Cricket Club, Canada

GLENMORE CC DEBUT - It was a dark and windy…ummmm…afternoon.
I ran someone out, and then missed a straight one.

BATTING STYLE - Left handed wishful

BOWLING STYLE - Left handed medium paced net bowler

PREFERRED FIELDING POSITION - Balcony, Pavilion

CAREER BEST SCORE / GLENMORE BEST SCORE - 86

CAREER BEST BOWLING FIGURES / GLENMORE BEST BOWLING FIGURES - 6 for 14, Never allowed to turn arm over for
GCC, in spite of taking 3 net wickets in an inspired spell including the wicket of Mr Storey. Once hit Alex
Robertson on the helmet with a fast bouncer. Since then he has developed an unhealthy obsession with
 darts.

BEST CRICKETING MOMENT - Scoring 86 in a partnership of 120 odd with Parveen. Also, putting on a 100 opening
 with Jonathan (Bray)

BEST MOMENT FOR GLENMORE CC - Being presented with the GCC Batsman of the Year (2007) award
(really). That season 2007-2008, GCC did pretty well.

FAVOURITE GROUND - Singapore Cricket Club, Leicester University and St Albans CC, UK.

LEAST FAVOURITE GROUND - Where do I start - Riley Large. The new incarnation of Westwinds would come
 pretty close.

BEST THING ABOUT GLENMORE CC - The cosmopolitan nature of it.

ONE THING YOU WOULD CHANGE ABOUT CALGARY CRICKET - The list is too long - general behaviour, standard of
umpiring, cricket pitches, grass not being shorn to acceptable cricketing standards, lack of basic facilities /
amenities for players. Not owning a proper cricket ground after being in existence for over 100 years
 is shameful.

ALL TIME FAVOURITE CRICKETER - David Gower

OTHER SPORTING HEROES - Hmm haven’t really followed sport seriously in recent times. Admire a few though.

GOALS FOR THE 2012 SEASON - Get to 20 at least once, maybe in a Taverners game.

BIGGEST INFLUENCE IN CRICKET - Dad, he turned me on to cricket, he had a stack of "The Cricketer" magazines I
 read inside out.

FAVOURITE FOOD - Not refried beans!!!. Indian, English, Continental, BBQs, Chinese, Thai etc.

 FAVOURITE DRINK - Lager

 FAVOURITE MUSIC - Classic Rock

FAVOURITE FILM - Too many to list

ANYTHING ELSE TO ADD – Nah, said enough.
