Glenmore Cricket Club News story

2011 Club BBQ - 17/07/11

17 Jul 2011

The club's mid-summer barbeque and fun day was held Sunday July 17th at Riley Park. The event was preceded by GCC second team's resounding 102 run win over Star XI seconds.

And a big success the barbecue fun day was, with nearly 85 people attending, including enough kids to beat the adults by 4 wickets in a 14 over friendly! Rohan (aged 5) hit the winning run. Many of the children were part of the Saturday U-11 cricket sponsored by Glenmore CC.

Great cooking job by Wasim, Sheraz and Burhan. And thanks to Trevor for the BBQ gear.

Because of an ongoing investigation into musical chairs tampering, all games results cannot yet be reported, but we can reveal it was the first ever egg&spoon races with no eggs dropped or broken. For Glenmore people, it seems dropping is reserved for cricket catches.

Burhan and Anjan claimed a new world record for the three-legged race, but it was the way they held onto each other that most impressed the onlookers.

When or if the Organizers recover, a year-end GCC barbecue and match may be on the cards.,
