Glenmore Cricket Club News story

Club Update - Videos and Latest News

20 Apr 2020

Good morning everyone. Hope this finds you well.

First off, a massive thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday for the Glenmore CC Big Night In. It was a great success, and it was particularly good to see so many club members involved.

The evening kicked off with our Q&A session with former Aussie coach, John Buchanan. We had 33 members on the Zoom meeting, listening to John talk about his time coaching Australia. John very graciously spoke for over half an hour, and very interesting it was too. If you want to watch the Q&A session it is available on our website and our YouTube channel.

That was followed up by our quiz night, which saw even more people join in. We had almost 60 people playing the quiz (members, family, friends) which was a terrific effort. Great to have such a good number participating. Thanks to everyone who took part.

The Glenmore CC 3km Charity Challenge is under way, and the response has been quite magnificent. We currently have 72 participants in the run and have raised $2200! We have members, ex-members,family and friends joining in. There are entries from New Zealand, Australia and England, as well as right across Canada. Our oldest runner is 63 (Jane Symington) and our youngest is just 7 (Dexter Cook).

And finally, if you haven't already seen, Kunal Makkar (our 1st XI captain) has been recording a series of interviews with club members and they have all been added to our website and YouTube channel. So far in his Cricket Talk In Isolation series he has chatted with Anjan Singh, Manav Attri, Rajeev Sharma, Tarun Jain, Muhammad Hayat and Gautam Verma. Expect some more in the coming days and weeks.

Thanks,
