A huge thanks to everyone who has come along over the past three weeks to play in our indoor games. They have been terrific fun, and there's been some excellent cricket played. It's been really encouraging to see some new members, all of whom look like good cricketers and great additions to the club; Gareth Wentzel, Trevor Bernhardt, Aaron Boda, Aasil Chatha, Navminder Singh, Ameer Hamza and Sarath Kumar.
Thanks also to Alex Robertson for umpiring the games, and to Quinton North and Bijju Mohankumar for scoring. Everyone's help and participation is massively appreciated.
We now have a break over the holidays but our indoor net sessions will be starting on Sunday January 12th, going right through until the start of the season. You can see the dates and times of our indoor net practices on the club website here.
We will be communicating more details about this in the New Year, but we are hoping to enter a Glenmore CC team into the Father's Day 5km Run & Walk which takes place in June. We think this would be a great way to raise some money for a worthy cause (Calgary Health Trust Neonatal Intensive Care Units), help promote the club within the community, and generate some good spirit within the club. The run takes place at Heritage Park so it will be a good opportunity to get the families together and have a fun day out. Like I say, we will be in touch with further details in the new year regarding registration, but maybe have a think about whether you'd like to take part. For more information about the run check out the official website here.
Finally, we have added a new page to the club website; the Glenmore CC Library. There are numerous cricket books and magazines, old and new, listed which are available for our members to borrow. Please take a look and if there are any titles you'd be interested in please get in touch.
Thanks to everyone at the club for your commitment to Glenmore CC and we will see you in the new year.
Alex
