2018 Cricket Season

27 Apr 2018

Members:

The snow has literally just left the pitch, ending a solid innings by old Man winter this year and the 2018 C&DCL Cricket launches with great excitement and anticipation tomorrow.  Skipper Anjan will lead G1 on to the field for their first Elite league match at noon at Inland Large in our new uniforms.  The weather forecast looks great at mostly sunny and 24°C so it likely won't snow but bring a jacket anyway boys.  Feel free to drop by to cheer them on, check out the new uni's, and then head on down to Joyce on 4th for the Quiz night.  I promise to keep Mr. Storey in check as he will be MC'ing and Quiz Mastering and we all know he can get a bit out of control.

Speaking of our esteemed Ex-Ex-President, the new executive has spent much of the winter finding out exactly how much work Mr. Storey was doing for the club.  I, for one, am struggling to keep up with his expectations.  I'm not sure we will ever know exactly how much he did or thank him enough for doing it but let that stop you from taking the mik out of him.  The executive and I have been very busy over the winter organizing the club and working through the positive changes within C&DCL and continuing struggles with ACA.  We have also added a Social Secretary, Deanna Kelly, who is volunteering while going to school to become an event planner.  A welcome addition to the team and you will see some of her efforts at the quiz night particularly the prizes we now have.

As for more of the mechanics of getting the season off the ground:

  • Please check out our social media pages; follow to keep up with the goings on with the club
  • Playing members please update your availability, sign your waivers, and pay your fees.

Thanks to everyone and best of luck for the season; it promises to be a great year for Glenmore.

Sincerely;

Jonathan Smith

President, Glenmore Cricket Club
